Serenity, sense of completeness, tranquility. This is what you’ll feel listening to this track. The melody surrounds you, and is able to heal every fear you could feel in your soul.
I can’t think of a better track title for the Music to Forget Your Troubles playlist than “I Really Don’t Care.” This track from Bilal is off of his 2015 album, “In Another Life.” I’m also a huge fan of the producer of this album, the prolific Adrian Younge, who also played a majority of the instruments on the album. The sounds are a throwback to 60’s and 70’s funk and soul, with the unique falsetto, classically trained R’n’B vocals of Bilal.
This track took me a little to like, but now I can’t enough of it. At first I was intrigued by the breezy unique voice, but now I couldn’t imagine the song any different way. It talks about liking it better underwater and the whole vibe of the song does sound underwater inspired…
Something that’s been missing from a Million Miles is a solid Blues track’s, but fortunately I was handed one this week from the talented Mike West out of Liverpool UK.
In Mike’s former life he kicked off his career in a Thrash/Metal outfit, so at times, I’m sure you’ll recognise the tough gravel vocals and how it’s been used to Mike’s advantage whilst he continues to keep it real with his acoustic, Alt Country, Blues and roots flavours.
Welcome Back! Approaching the Holiday Season at breakneck speed here in the states has everyone rushed, stressing, and “adulting” something severely. I honestly can not think of a single track more important to be showcased this week than Walk The Moon’s “Anna Sun”.
Art metaphors and comparisons with great painters are not rare in hip hop – as you’ve seen from Beenzino’s Dali, Van, Picasso; and as you can see now with Delaware hip hop duo The 49ers.
Remixing deadmau5 takes some serious courage. Not only does Joel have incredibly high standards when it comes to people messing with his music, but he’s also not afraid to tell them – often in the bluntest way possible.
There are certain songs that define a genre. When people think of the short lived chillwave genre people think of Washed out – Feel it all around.
Wize is a rapper with a truly unique flow and style. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, originally but is currently based in Miami, FL, for the last decade where he has been pursuing his music career. He is a part of the explosive creative collective, Dusa Gang. His songs blur the lines between old school hip-hop and modern trap influences, creating a raw and earnest sound.
We continue to explore the night and music allows us to make a new connection with ourselves, a guitar comes again our way and leaves a single yet powerful imprint on our souls, the pattern is simple but so filled with meaning, there’s another feeling that needs to leave our hearts, free us from another burden.
Wow!
