This is a very emotional song. “Over the years I’ve written a lot of songs about my mother or in memory of her. Finally I got one for my dad. His name is Frank and he will be 83 years old later this year. He has always been the anchor to our family. The strongest roots in our family tree come from him. He taught us to love and accept one another - along with a million other things - and he always made sure we shut the lights off”, - says Lori McKenna.
While this is a song about father, you’ll probably have all the emotions while listening to it - from remembering childhood to realizing that “the people you love get old”. Another perfect song to think about life :)
