The new album from Australian-born / LA-based musician RY X is said to lean on "a lot of conversation with the self on deeper conceptual ideas" and a "hint of healthy existentialism" with themes of "sensuality and all that is beautiful". The single 'Untold' leads the way, its soft, tender electronics locating the humane amid the digital rush. Lowering the tempo, RY X uncovers new spaces in his music, while the vocals move from tender, half-spoken refrains to those word-less cries in the background. A meditative, deeply entrancing piece of music.
Speaking about his new work, RY X explains, “I think my mission statement was simply to remain vulnerable and to capture that within this album. The inspirations change each time, and I always want to allow that process to be free, to draw on new ideas and sounds and instrumentation. But what feels consistently important to me is keeping a sense of rawness and honesty in the work”.
