Benjamin Di Ubaldo aka ThBenj, rapper, vocalist, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, kick started his career at an early age as a drummer performing with multiple bands across the country in genres ranging from rock, metal, punk, soul and pop.
In 2012 his music led him to Australia, where he spent his days busking in the streets of Melbourne as an acoustic artist and nights performing in pubs and clubs playing drums as part of a duo. Soaking up the scenery and Aussie culture ThBenj further developed his songwriting skills and wrote several of the duos original songs which were later recorded.
In 2016 he made his way to Ibiza to focus on music production. Working with a DJ, the duo Overclick was formed, producing Electronic Deep House, which gained attention from Ibiza Global Radio.
He sent me Paranoid a while ago. It is really an impressive work both musically and lyrically. Paranoid is the one and only single from his album titled T.H.B that was dropped in June 2019. I was talking to Benjamin on e-mail to get some more information about his upcoming album and I was actually trying to bring this review up on the album’s release date but I could not make it happen because of the very busy schedule back then. It was already those times in which I decided to take a little break on social media and focused on what I can do better to make this playlist more interactive both for me, the audience and the artists. Let’s get back to the main subject, the amazing album T.H.B.
Benjamin really knows how to make some melodies even more attractive. It is obvious he spent too much time fixing those 808s. His mastering skills are one of the reasons why I love his production. T.H.B. must have been a perfect step ahead for Benj. I can tell by the streams. Paranoid and Waiting For You has been streamed 18k and Louder has been streamed 15k. By the way, “Waiting For You” is such a beautiful track, my second favorite off the album. He is great and doing just fine but hey man, we need even more music and even more creativity from you. The first ever submitted track of Take Over the Night has been Paranoid from ThBenj folks. It is also the track of the week. Give his last album a listen, it is everywhere and really deserves a shout out.
