This song is all about happiness and getting to a specific place, Big Sur in this case, that makes you feel beyond euphoric. The first time I heard this, it put a smile on my face. And let’s take a moment to appreciate the lyrics of this track because they’re so vivid It makes me paint such a clear picture in my head and it feels like I’m on the way there. I absolutely love the creative energy that this The Beach Boys track gives off. The indie-rock touch, with pop vocals and the head-swaying guitar feel. It’s the perfect song to take a calm drive to.
The song sounds like there’s so much going on because of all the instruments, background vocals, and overlapping lyrics, but every single time I listen to it, it’s like I can feel each part, each verse and lyric individually– because it all just falls into place so naturally. It’s just a beautiful creation, really.
