Right from the beginning, this song will grab your attention. Strong to soft in the blink of an eye, yet it all feels so right. Brittany Howard’s vocals are one of a kind and are truly out of this world.
The combination of organ/keys with the powerful vocals is something that few bands can really harness, and the Alabama Shakes are one of them.
Tempo changes, with a relative minor chord progression are designed to deliver a full blast of 'yes please gimmie more'.
The interlude at 2:10 is what really makes the song in my opinion. It goes from nothing to everything and really leaves you with your jaw on the floor. The guitars playing off of each other, the bass dancing around the drums, and the vocals coming in to drive it all home.
