See The Light – Electric Guest

I felt grateful when I discovered I hadn't added any Electric Guest song to the playlist, the time is really perfect to add one and it's a very special one.

There's a light that never goes out. I've never been a Smiths fan and I haven't really heard them that much but this phrase, it really says something deeply true about human beings, it just resonated with me and has stayed with me for years.

There's a light that never goes out inside every human heart, there is. Some lights are very small and covered with tons of pain, some others are bright and strong, but we all have them.

Then sometimes life gives you the blessing to meet people whose light is so bright it just lights everything around them. I've had the pleasure and the immense luck of having met several of these people, I'm always grateful for it and always will be.

There's something about them that always goes right through you, you feel it in your heart, there's so much light about them that it simply gives you happiness, you just know you feel better when you're around them.

Lately I've even felt someone's light that strongly that it has ignited parts of my light that were hidden, made me feel happy to be myself and it has been really special, there's something really wonderful about being able to connect to people who seem to know you better than you do, it's difficult to see our own light without always questioning if it really is as bright as it should or if it even is bright at all.

We've all felt connected to someone's light, we've all felt our own shine through our hearts in joy for igniting what always needed to be seeing about us, we have to remind ourselves what we really are, constantly, and having the kind of people who can remind you is a blessing, sometimes a once or twice in a lifetime blessing.

So tonight, I take this beautiful song to try and remind you to ignite that flame inside you and cherish the people who see it in you, who really see you underneath all the layers of imperfection, who get brighter by seeing you and appreciate your light. Cherish them, thank life for them and try to make them see their own light, our heart's the only place we have to hold on to when times and lives get difficult and shaky, when the moment feels troubling and the world seems a place of destruction.
