It's the last song of the year! It's incredible how endings can feel so rupturing and sad sometimes, even if we know most of them are just based on arbitrary limits and cycles that were just constructions we invented to better organize ourselves.
Still, endings are moments that can sometimes go hard on our stability, we're meant to accept the new to come and our fear of the unknown, but also tend to reminisce about what has passed through our lives, they happen to turn on the most difficult memories and all those ones we have been running away from.
Year endings have been specially difficult times for me, I think that over more than the last ten years I've had very emotional troubling moments in the final month of the year. As I've grown and healed a bit more each year there have been some better moments recently but still there are times when mind and emotions confront you with heartbreaking truths and situations, days when you feel it's difficult to actually be happy and hopeful about life.
I've done a great deal of healing and overcome an immense tendency towards depression, I feel proud about it and happy that I don't have that much weight over myself. Still, in times like these it is sometimes difficult to avoid sadness and a small sense of despair over some of the things that happen, however, time allows us to learn to understand the perfection behind all phases of life and their role in this massive task that is our learning as humans on this earth.
I chose this song because of its incredible beauty and perfect fit with this playlist, it's also a beautiful companion through sad moments, Sia is an incredibly talented songwriter, her voice is amazing and she really uses it perfectly as a tool for expression, this song is pretty older than her hit songs from today but you can feel the same authenticity in most of her music, her soul just knows how to connect to people vocally on a deep level and that's a pretty valuable gift.
So this is the last song of the year, a rocky year, filled with learning experiences, a year of losses and blessings, a year of transformation and hope, a year filled with despair but also with actions and desire to change, I hope we can all learn from all we lived through and help each other, support ourselves in this complex human experience and realize it's ok to live and experience all our imperfections, learn from our mistakes and embrace ourselves as a whole, no matter what we try to convince ourselves we are, acceptance and compassion should be our best tools to start a new cycle to come.
Sending everyone much love on this final days of the year and the beginning of the new one.

When you listen to music like this one you also remember what it is to be connected to nature, you remember part of the sound of nature in that organic sound, the wood just resonating to the sound of strings being touched, you remember the essential and feel ready to transport yourself again to the best parts of life.
