This song reminds me of Cavalleria Rusticana because the main melody in the beat is very similar to one of the melodies in the prelude, it's very beautiful.
Rosalía's voice and lyrics just manage to embellish the song in an incredible way, it has been moving through my head for the past week.
It's interesting how this music manages to be so connected to today's times, you can feel it specially on the tempo, if it had come out many decades ago it would have been very comfortably slower and in my opinion it would be even more beautiful, but we live in fast, uneasy times and no one has the time to listen to a slow song, so we have this beauty that feels pretty calm to today's standards but when you actually listen to it in a settled state, it's pretty fast and hurried.
Maybe it's because I keep listening to Cavalleria Rusticana's melody in my head, which is obviously way slower, maybe it's because my rhythm is a lot slower than many other people, even if I am too constantly over excited and exposed to the enormous flow of information and anxiety, I can take my time to settle down and transcend inside myself, find true silence inside me.
I just finished watching the documentaries based on Gary Shandling's life and his journals and I felt profoundly connected to his experience, got moved to tears many times by his struggle, his strong sensitivity and his giant heart, his elevated wisdom and special connection to his real essence, his life-long grief and his search for purpose and for transcendence.
Our ancestor's wounds affect our cells, every time I manage to heal through tears by experiencing something this special I get filled with profound gratitude, because I am letting go a little part of all of the afflictions my male ancestors were never able to express, letting all their sorrow have a tiny but meaningful moment of comfort.
Don't postpone your healing, every little healing you do helps the world, helps your family, yourself and the universe.
