Uploaded this week to the playlist is a song I came across in a cab ride some time back. I wouldn't call it hip hop or R&B like what is usually on the list, but it definitely has Soul. "Side Streets", Performed by the trio known as Saint Etienne is a soft, laid back track you can vibe to.
They are an English band from London that was formed in 1990 and consists of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs. They are often described as "alternative dance" or "pop". The song appears on their album "Tales From Turnpike House" which was released in 2005.
This track basically tells of living in a world where it can be scary to go outside. Some may take the side streets, even when they are alone because they won't allow fear of the outside world to consume them. They can't be scared to do everyday things like simply walking outside.
Sarah Cracknell is the lead vocal on this, and her voice is like medicine for your ears. I would say its definitely in a category by itself. If your stressed out and don't want to be bothered, this is something I would suggest to someone for zoning out.
Catchy, Classy and smooth, this is some fly ish y'all...
