In a creative sense, the lifespan of a lightning strike has two very clear cycles. In the midst of a lightning storm you will see the birth of the strike. A sometimes trance inducing light show of immense and awe inspiring proportion. Then you will hear silence, sometimes just for a moment, other times for several seconds depending on your distance from the electric storm. Then a bassful crack and rumble will pass through you and overhead. Imagine Dragons uses this beautiful and powerful occurrence in nature to represent an analogy.
The positive message “Thunder” gives to us is the idea that we are all dreamers, and have goals and aspirations as we are young there is a flash of light that may draw us towards our calling. This flash of light pushes us by illuminating our future and throwing us in the line of success. Often times this success will not come right away, and this may discourage some. That silence after the flash is simply the period of time we must wait and keep pushing towards our passions and successes in life before the roar of thunderous success passes through us. Remember that today when you feel like you started on the right path, but nothing seems to be happening. Keep moving forward. Persist. Success will meet you halfway, you just need to continue your trek. Keep being your true and honest self, the pursuit of happiness is only as rewarding of a concept as the person is willing to pursue.

About the Curator - Jesse Simons
If there is one thing in all of existence that can possibly perk Jesse up more than a fresh dark roast coursing through his veins, it’s philanthropy work. His drive and passion for helping those in need is what he believes refines him the most as a strong, confident character.
Constantly inviting challenges to solve, you’ll be “cold pressed”, (caffeine is clearly essential), to find another person who looks as dashingly good looking in both a freshly pressed suit, and the same pair of sweatpants he’s put off washing from a few too many evenings couch surfing.
Jesse’s love for all genres of music started when he realized the power of music in the human experience. He believes each musician is the creative equivalent of a tectonic plate fault line. When musicians spread their art into the world, that fault line shifts, sending waves of raw emotion pouring from the track into the individuals absorbing it. Jesse came to the understanding that musicians weren’t just imperative to the human experience, they ARE the human experience.
From that day forward he has done everything in his power to help artists of all backgrounds and sound, spread their craft.
