British r&b and pop artist Bruno Major completely wooed listeners with his 2017 track “Easily” off of the album A Song for Every Moon. Not just your typical love song, the track is very real, one line even being “might not have always been a fairytale.” In “Easily”, Major calls out to his lover, telling them that although the relationship may not be perfect, that “doesn’t mean [they] shouldn’t try.” He gives hope to the romantics and appeals to the realists, so whatever your cup of tea is, be sure to check out this track.
Bruno Major started out his career as a session guitarist when he was 16 and has a strong background as a jazz musician, which is clear in most of his music. Even in “Easily”, it’s evident that Major likes to play around with harmony and really knows how to create a rich environment in his music.
The track starts out immediately with Bruno Major’s buttery vocals, a beachy electric guitar, and a fat, bouncy bass. The drums are super simple with clear emphasis on the downbeats, making the track feel like it’s a slow waltz playing at the beach. Once more vocals join in, the track becomes sweet and hopeful, maybe showing that taking the easy or simple route isn’t always the way to go. About halfway through the track, there’s a short break where all you can hear is a soft sparkling synth. It’s a nice reminder to breathe and relax in order to see the often overlooked beauty in things.
From this point on, there’s a clear shift and Bruno Major, as well as the track, significantly opens up. My favorite part, by far, is the third verse with the magical harmonies and melodies where they seem as if they’re shaped by raw emotion. Soon after, I’m mesmerized again by the stunning instrumental solo and the way it so perfectly fits the message of the track without having any words at all. For me, it took just one listen to this track to quickly turn me into a diehard Bruno Major fan. Now, it’s your turn to check him out and see what all the hype is about. Enjoy!

As an 18 year old who just moved to New York City to study Music Business at NYU, I’m constantly finding myself in unfamiliar territory and have come to realize I’m not going to settle in anytime soon. So, while I’ve been exploring the city and growing from each experience, I’ve racked up a pretty extensive list of the best music I’ve come across and want to keep sharing this art with you. When I'm not discovering and sharing new music though, I'm writing and creating my own music to share with the world. In fact, I’m working on releasing my debut EP right now!
