Love can only be satisfied by one thing: someone else’s love. It can make us feel so strongly that our world can be made reliant on the feelings of another person. Nothing else matters.
"Nothing Else Matters" is a song by Metallica off of one of the best-selling albums of all times, The Black Album. Don’t let the band name fool you though, "Nothing Else Matters" is a sweet and gentle song , but with a punch. It leads you in with a delicate guitar, and the kick drum punches straight through your heart. A massive string section sweetens up the song, only to be destroyed in an eruption by the heavy metal guitar solo. The song shrinks back down to it’s roots, reminding you that no matter how big life gets, it’s still just you and your feelings.
The narrator sees the way people are reacting to his feelings, but they aren’t enough to stop him from feeling that way. Because when nothing else matters, you have nothing to lose. And when you have nothing to lose, all you need to do is take a chance.
