Who hasn’t thought to themselves at one point, “If only I knew then what I know now…” Right?! We’ve all done it. We wish sometimes that we could go back to the past and tell ourselves that things will be okay, and to trust in the process of living life. Constantinos Lemesios does this in a beautifully melodic way.
Lemesios’ “No Fret” has a unique style that is reminiscent of the spatial and cerebral feel of Radiohead, Muse, and Chris Cornell’s early solo work. He shares the meaning behind his song and how it speaks to the lost soul:
“I wanted to write a song, as a 30 year-old guy, looking back and seeing my 15 year-old self, with the anxieties, insecurities and fears of a teenager who doesn’t know what life holds for him in the future. I wanted to tell him to ‘Not fret’, not to rush and that things will turn out alright. The title is also an allusion to a fretless guitar and its freedom, as music had always been a part of my life and is an even larger part of it now.
It is a melodic tune that reconciles with the nostalgia of childhood, finding comfort in remembrance for the adult self but also comforting the teen, telling him that the future is bright. It is an optimistic tune, and it is a good fit for this playlist because it gives just that; the comfort of telling a lost soul ‘Don’t fret’... Things turn out just fine.”

Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began. She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.
For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music. Her lyrics have been recognized by “American Songwriter Magazine” and her music is featured on the award-winning “Women Of Substance Radio and Podcast.” Check out Belinda’s music and learn more at www.belindammusic.com

It is common to experience a broken heart during the teen years. It’s almost a rite of passage to becoming an adult. The experience allows you to discover that there are people you love, people you hate, and sometimes both. Working through the pain, mending your heart, and loving again… that makes us human, and that strengthens the soul…
