Picture this:  Aretha Franklin’s POWER + Joss Stone’s GROOVE + Janis Joplin’s RASPINESS + a KILLER GUITAR SOLO to match… and you’ve got Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds.  I first heard this song while driving on my long commute home, no expectations, and when the song was over I said to myself “What the heck just happened here?!  Why have I never heard this band before?  Let’s do that again!”

“My House” is soulful, bluesy, and rocks from beginning to end.  Starts out nice and mellow… then before you know it, they’ve kicked it into high gear and you’re wanting them to come over to YOUR HOUSE!  Close your eyes, feel the soul of Sister Sparrow’s voice and sway to the Dirty Birds stellar performance. Just don’t close your eyes while driving!  Stay safe and groove on.

Learn more about the Curator, Belinda M.

Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began.  She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.  

For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music.
