ABSOLUTE. UNCONDITIONAL. LOVE.
Mella’s “Find Me” evokes the most intense feelings of first love, the purest of love. The feeling that you can’t possibly live without the other. The feeling that there is one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else, even better than yourself. The feeling that if you are lost in the world, this person is the only one that can find you. The feeling that this person is “your person” and nobody else’s. It’s the kind of love that is depicted in some of the greatest love stories of all time.
With passionate vocals, and reflective instrumentation, Mella is able to transport you to a different time, place, and space. And perhaps, you will be just as pleasantly surprised as I was when I found out what her inspiration was for the song. (spoiler alert!) Mella tells us:
"Find Me” is a song I wrote about my dogs, from their perspective. The words are supposed to be about how a dog would feel about its owner. When we produced the song, the idea was to make it sound how dogs hear. There's a lot of ambiance and delay, making it seem like we're experiencing the entire story through their eyes. Animals inspire a lot of my songs, but this one is the most obvious and up front. I usually bury hints in lyrics here and there.
MIND. BLOWN. How amazing is that?! It felt like the first time I watched “The Sixth Sense”... I wanted to go right back to the beginning, listen for the subtle references and say to myself, “I can’t believe I missed that!” As a dog rescuer and animal lover, I connected to this song in a completely new way after speaking to Mella.
So lost souls, go home and give love to those animals, and humans, that love you unconditionally!

Learn more about the Curator, Belinda M.
Named after Belinda Carlisle, solo artist and lead singer for The Go-Gos, making music has always been second nature to Belinda M. Growing up in a household that was largely influenced by Filipino culture, it was impossible for her to avoid belting out a few tunes into a karaoke mic at an early age. After her parents discovered she could play piano by ear at age 4, lessons promptly began. She later started writing poetry and playing guitar, which eventually lead to her becoming a singer/songwriter.
For Belinda, writing and listening to music has always been an essential creative outlet and place of solace. She released her debut EP, “I’m Not Broken” in October 2016, and continues to write and release new music. Her lyrics have been recognized by “American Songwriter Magazine” and her music is featured on the award-winning “Women Of Substance Radio and Podcast.” Check out Belinda’s music and learn more at www.belindammusic.com

It is common to experience a broken heart during the teen years. It’s almost a rite of passage to becoming an adult. The experience allows you to discover that there are people you love, people you hate, and sometimes both. Working through the pain, mending your heart, and loving again… that makes us human, and that strengthens the soul…
