From the mind of Ryan Karazija, comes the soulful melodic offering “Low Roar”.
Atmospheric and experimental, yet not so far out that you couldn’t put it on for your easy-listening, pop standards friend (how dare you have friends like that). I’m just sayin’….for something that’s kinda “different”, it’s pretty easy going.
Though there are a handful intriguing songs from Low Roar’s collection, my personal favorite (at the moment) is certainly “Tonight, Tonight, Tonight” - the closing track from the bands self-titled, debut album. A seemingly tragic, heart-numbing, lack of love song that leaves you feeling a touch melancholic, but at least it’s a warm-water, bathtub drowning shade of blue.
I won’t stain your brain with my thoughts on the lyrics, instead I’ll just leave them here with you, per the yoozh.
Tonight, we're washing off the blood
Tonight, tonight
And I've tried to give you what you want
What is it that you want?
Day spent with not a word to say
Routine, red lie
So jump, we'll sit and burn a lie
We'd rather burn than fight
But I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
We've become so good at fooling all
So good, we often fool ourselves
We think twice and always turn around
A comfortable frown
So jump but sit and burn a lie
There's no wrong, no right
And I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
No I ain't gonna be here too long, too long
