Out of Byron Bay, Australia, and currently based in Berlin, Parcels is a five-member electro-pop band. They evoke and combine a few genres in their music and as described by the band "sort of a blend between electro-pop and disco-soul"

Signed to French label Kitsune, they were able to collaborate with legendary duo Daft Punk for the writing and production of their 2017 single 'Overnight'. They definitely carried the style and essence of Daft Punk to incorporate it in their songs, as we can distinguish in the riff of the main guitar, subtle drums and precise keys throughout .

'Lightenup' is part of their debut 2018 self-titled album, which elevated their status as a band and received well deserved praise and recognition. Along with the track of the week some of our favorites are: IknowhowIfeel, Tieduprightnow and Withorwithoutyou.

About the Curator: Alejandro Laverde

I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia and now live in the San Fransisco Bay Area. Growing up in Colombia I had a lot of musical influence from my family with the great Hispanic/Latin artists that transcend generations and carry the essence of the culture to this day. My curiosity for music started then and was further developed when one of my uncles took me under his wing and opened the world of music in English to me, starting with classic Rock and Metal and going all the way to Rap, R&B, Jazz, and Electronic, from there I took it upon myself to keep being curious and explore music without limiting myself to certain languages and styles I understood but rather let the music do its thing and connect with the rhythm and the artist’s body of work.

Since then I have expanded my music library and collection, for every moment in life, there is a song that can help you celebrate, recover, laugh, cry. There is no limit as a listener to explore and enjoy the beautiful gift of music, which has no barriers and welcomes everyone.

South East London’s own Aria Wells, artistically known as Greentea Peng provides a silky smooth neo-soul tune with Mr. Sun. This song is part of her 2019 EP ‘RISING’. She self-describes as a ‘psychedelic R’n’B’ singer and songwriter with musical influences from legends like Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu. She has collaborated with fellow British artists p-rallel and Foreign Beggars.

Noir ou Blanc – Ichon ft. Loveni

Based in Montreuil, France, Ichon is a dynamic rapper and singer. In this track he partnered with fellow artist Loveni, they are both part of the Bon Gamin crew/label alongside producer Myth Syzer. This crew has been present in the Parisian Music scene for the past few years, creating a devoted community around them.
