I am absolutely thrilled to have our first user submitted track featured on this playlist. There has been a couple dozen submissions, so after sifting through the tracks I stumbled across a terrific remix of “The Last Day” by Michael Lovisa. The tone of this track perfectly captures the direction that this playlist is moving towards. The grit, despair, longingness, and pure raw emotion - perfection.
A simple bass and heavenly synth supports the yearning vocals throughout the song. Lush acoustics come in the middle of the song creating a forest-like ambiance that is both easy to find and lose yourself. It’s as if my soul was intertwined with this piece when I first heard it, and a little part of is is still tied down and captured, waiting to be released.
For me that’s what my practice is all about - fully immersing yourself, FOR yourself. Stumbling through life’s great highs and fearing lows, seeing who you really are and what you’re made of at the core. Often times when we do that a little piece of us gets left behind along the way. But in yoga, we can retrace those steps back to our true selves. The ability to constantly shed, change, and try out all of life’s most perfect aspects and adventures drives us forward.
Get lost, get found, and use this track as a launching pad to to set your intention for your new first day.
