The ancient Greeks had different words for different types of love. There was Philia, a deep friendship, like the deep connection my taste buds share with Philadelphia cheese. There’s Eros, or a sexual love, you can see that in words like erotic. There’s quite a few different types of love, but my favorite has to be Pragma. A long lasting, enduring love. 30 years of marriage love. Love built upon commitment.
I’m not sure why it’s my favorite, honestly, but I definitely have an educated guess. I know I’ve struggled with worthlessness and my place in my friendships and relationships all my life, and I think that the security of a pragma love is what makes it my favorite. Someone committed to you in your entirety, who has been for years. Someone who you know fully accepts you. Someone you mean something to.
