Alright Ladies and Gentlemen! I'm proud of introduce this band that submitted this track and since then I've been listening to all their albums learning a bit more of them. Here they are - Year of October!
After a great week with Foo Fighters, we travel to one of the greatest places on Earth - Nashville. The land of many many great artist, the homeland of the King and also is where one of our artist on Open Another Door (apart from Year of October haha) - Jack White has his headquarters. Why are you talking about Jack? Well, first of all it's because I'm a great fan and the other reason is that at the Third Man Records is the world's only live venue with direct-to-acetate recording capabilities.
Okay going back to what really matters this week. Year of October, founded in 2010, started as an acoustic group and moved on to a full band pretty soon.
With a distinctive mix of rock and blues, a tidy voice (when I say tidy, means that is pretty clear to hear the notes and that she's getting the sound she's looking for), a great guitar-bass-drum relationship.
I'm gonna make a bit more focus on that relationship. Of course we are not seeing the craziest guitar solos, maddest drum grooves, slapping bass notes. Almost the whole opposite, they are all pretty solid, working together, making a nice atmosphere on each song a giving the voice the perfect gap to complete with her style. All this mix creates what I believe what they are and what are they looking forward to (typical letter ending words - I'm not native English so I'll use it...) producing on the audience this Soft Rock Brick.
Talent, Style, Nice Lyrics... Guys I wish I could tell you more about Year of October; but as it's a band who submitted their track, I had the pleasure of making some questions to them.
So, stay tuned to Music To Open Another Door and know more about Year of October told by them later no this week!
Top hat salute for all of you and special top hat salute and thanks to Year of October.

About the curator - Rodrigo Medrano
At a very early age, music had an incredible impact on Rodrigo’s life. He was never able to listen to lullaby songs; instead he was served Guns n’ Roses and Aerosmith for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
At the age of 12, he became a melomaniac, collecting albums, EP’s, recording sessions, and researching every kind of genre. All this helped him to get his first job at a recording studio where he realized his life would forever revolve around sound and music.
Working on cruise ships as First Audio Technician allowed him to let loose his passion and expand his knowledge on psychoacoustics, eventually promoted up to being in charge of sound for the hit broadway shows: Rock of Ages and Burn The Floor.
His music library will never stop growing as his melomania will get worse and worse.
