Thank you to No Trombones for submitting this weeks track, Walk the Walk. The smooth sound is supported by a great horn section, and the powerful voice of Lil Rounds. Inspired by those that make promises they don’t keep…..hmmm I think we have all known someone like that.
An important message, often overlooked, Walk the Walk don’t just talk the talk. How much does fear hold us in place? We might notice it in someone else first and think, He says he is going to do that all the time but doesn’t, do we ever notice that same behaviour in ourselves?
Do you walk your walk? I know I don’t always, I have started to have an awareness of my fears, how I hold myself in place, I don’t like things to stay the same, I want change, something different, something interesting, so I started to look into them. I write them down starting with I am afraid of…...and write and write until there is no more, I know that I won’t become fearless, but I do have a way to break though the fears I know about, and expand a little bit more, to change and become interested in the world again.
The fears I wrote down yesterday I burned, last night I dreamed about those fears and when I woke, I knew it was just fear, not really something of mine anymore, I knew that I was processing this in the easiest way, in my dreams, to watch myself from a distance, I wasn’t really scared.
So I will keep an eye on myself, when I feel like I’m not choosing to Walk the Walk, I can ask why? Find out what is in the way, and move it on, so I can keep moving too.
Vocals: LiL, Guitars: Rick Vincent, Horns: Misha Ruhr, Ted Buehrer, Mix: Yoad Nevo.

About the Curator: Erin Murray
Erin, a Mother of 1 little man and wife to 1 big man has learnt much about herself in the past few years. After moving from the city to the bush (near the Ocean), there weren’t as many distractions as she had become accustomed to, in a smaller community she lost her anonymity and slowly began to become aware of herself, her feelings, the life she had created for herself and her relationships with others. Seeking change from the feelings and behaviours which had become her normal, she sought out methods to do just that. Slowly at first, then a bit more and a bit more she is becoming aware of what she actually wants for herself and has begun removing the things that aren’t that, inside and out. Learning about faith (not religion:-)), fun and how to be gentle with herself and others along the way.

How does wisdom come to us? How do we become, wise?
We are so many versions of ourselves in a lifetime. Can we see each version and honour it, thank it and move on? Knowing that each version brought us to here and now, knowing that we did the best we could at the time, and if we didn’t we learnt from it…
