All things must pass. Everything is temporary. Everyone that you know, you will only know for a brief period of time. Your life is short, finite, fleeting. Old friends will leave you. New friends will join you.
Treasure the time you have! Enjoy the momentous experiences that conspire to shape your existence! Enjoy the little ones too! Enjoy them while they last!
Don’t dwell on failure. Don’t languish over lost love. Time is precious. Don’t waste it. You do not have much of it. Move on. Seize the day. Carpe Diem!
I took an oath to stand my ground
when the feeling comes and greys the day
listen carefully, hear the song the wind brings alongto help you carry on
Looking back on your life. What do you see? A life lived to the full? Memories to cherish? Or… bitter regrets and harboured grudges that have stolen your days and eaten your soul? You are in control. Take that oath. Stand your ground.
Enjoy It While It Lasts is a deceptively simple song, with a profound sentiment at its heart! Sung in a half-smile, it’s a vote for hope, and for the endurance of the human spirit. If you’re feeling bad, do something good. You’ll feel better. It’s telling you to take the knocks, to roll with the punches, to pick yourself up, to keep calm, and to carry on.
It’s deep folk-noir, yet fragrant and fragile, and with a graceful feline cadence. The voice of Pratika Gopinath is one that you will not easily forget. It will stop you in your tracks. Allow yourself to drown in the utter beauty of her delivery. Everything else in the world will fade into momentary insignificance.
here’s an artistic maturity evident in the restrained arrangement and the understated production, curtesy of bass-player Malay Vadalkar a sound designer by trade. A lot’s happening here to support Pratika’s gorgeous vocal, but it’s all so well assembled that you may not even notice! Those feathery ethereal harmonies, the unexpected chords, the bass, the keys, the piano, the slow build. Three minutes of audial heaven.
Easy Wanderlings? This lot are a shape-shifting collective of semi-wandering minstrels and storytellers based in the City of Pune on the banks of the Mutha River, Western India - just a hundred miles from Mumbai. This is one of the most populous urban regions in the world, but their calm and tranquil music is so far from that… trust me!
Easy Listening? At turns, Simon and Garfunkel, Jack Johnson, Aretha Franklin - this magical mystery tour may take you anywhere and everywhere. Parisian cafe, jazz club, golden beach, river deep, mountain high. And with the band occasionally boasting as many as eleven members, each widely travelled and drawing inspiration from their disparate backgrounds, there’s always a broad palate of ideas for the Easy Wanderlings musical canvas. Songwriter and co-founder Sanyanth Naroth says ‘We don’t intentionally strive for perfection. Our goal is really just to learn and to do our best.’
Well, strive or not, perfection seems to be what they’ve achieved. Their debut album As Written In The Stars is a must-listen experience.
