Damn we use the word “Flow” a lot on this website!
I was looking for an entry into this track write up and was thinking of the whole Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi concept (here’s the wiki page if you’re unfamiliar,) out of interest I searched musicto.com for entries using the word Flow and – well – just check it out – I gave up counting after the first 100 entries.
But that’s the thing isn’t it – the thing we’re all striving for – particularly those of us who like to use music to accompany our writing practice – Flow – that Nirvana state where everything is just easy – where ideas form orderly lines and literally flow from your fingertips.
i’m doing that now – and yes – I’m grinning.
If you’ve already got your idea – i.e. – you’re not looking for a track to help ideation, you’re looking for execution – this is a veritable mountainside to your cognitive stream. It starts small, unassuming, almost cold but yet – inviting enough to jump in – and once you’re in – what a ride. Building slowly but surely, moving faster as it gets bigger and bigger, sometimes slowing down as it hits a bend but always moving forward, always feeling familiar and supporting your words as they flow onto the page.
Yeah – I dig this track – you should probably take it out for a spin.
