Habits are weird aren’t they - the ones that are good for you are hard to establish and easy to break while the ones that are bad for you - well - yes - hello smack habit!
I’ve been out of my writing groove for a couple of months -it’s not that I haven’t been listening and curating tracks - it’s that I’d lost the rhythm of writing every week and it’s a habit I want back. There’s this inertia that you have to overcome when you’re starting something back up - when I’m in that kinda of space - I’m looking for all the energy I can get.
This is the second track from Hats Off Gentlemen Its Adequate on the playlist, we featured their epic track Ark back in 2019 - if you’re looking to write to a track that has its own story - definitely check it out. This week I’m going for something as straightforward as a bumped up bpm with a pulsating bass line and all manner of synths that work together to create the kind of groove I can use to turn desire into words.
And - if you’ve been head down for a while and need a break - take a few minutes to check out the video below - it’s seriously good eye candy.

About the Curator: Andrew McCluskey
The first visual memory I have is that of the white upright piano in Singapore, Hell and the Dark Forces lived at the bottom, Heaven and the Angels at the top, they would play battles through my fingers and I was hooked.
As a psychology graduate I studied how sound affects human performance.
As a musician I compose instrumental music that stimulates your brain but doesn't mess with your language centers, leaving you free to be creative and brilliant without distraction.
As a curator I research how music can improve your life and create flow - I can tell you what music to listen to when studying for a test and why listening to sad music can make you feel better.
As the founder of musicto I’m on a mission to inspire a global audience of music lovers and artists through the development of people powered playlists.
