I was just minding my business, going about my day when this track submission showed up in my inbox and made my week. It had me within the first 15 seconds with its fun beat, groovy bassline, and soulful, funky vocals. It's one of those songs that will have you dancing in your car and will most likely be stuck in your head the rest of the day. And really, what more do you want from your morning tunes?
Kristen is an indie-alternative/rock band fronted by Kristen Bales and hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana. The band recorded their first self-titled EP ("Kristen Bennett") in 2012, did some touring around the U.S., and recorded a second EP ("Someone Else's Eyes") in 2013. After spending four months in Nashville, Tennessee, they released an EP of jazzy Christmas tunes ("Merry Little EP") in Spring of 2015, and they're touring this year to promote the release of this new single. I'm excited to hear more from the band in the near future.
