For the most part, this playlist (and my listening taste in general) focuses more on the instrumental and production of the track and less on the vocal aspect of it. However, I can’t say the same with this one. I usually listen to Deadmau5 for his arps and melodies but Kiesza’s vocals in this one are just so good that I find myself craving for them almost as much as the catchy melody and huge synths.
Here’s how Kiesza came up with the vocals:
“One night as I was heading to Norway from the UK to mentor young music students, my taxi hit a massive traffic jam and I soon realized I wasn’t going to make my flight. We were at a standstill for almost an hour before we began inching toward the airport. But as I was sitting there peering out the window, like magic, all of a sudden the entire song just appeared. I pulled out my phone as fast I could to capture the words and they flew in. It was as if someone was threading the song into my mind from another dimension. By the time I finally arrived at the airport, my flight had long departed, but Bridged By A Lightwave had landed in this 3D place.”
The track was first played out at Deadmau5′ CubeV3 shows in early 2020 and was finally released late in the year.
