In this week's track, Jamila Woods and Chance The Rapper team up to deliver a dreamy r&b/hip-hop track. The title of the track, "LSD," doesn't refer to the hallucinogen drug. As a matter of fact, in this track "LSD" stands for Lake Shore Drive, which is a freeway that runs parallel with Lake Michigan through Chicago. So, the two Chicago artists are basically writing a love letter to the city that they grew up in.
The production on this track, handled by oddCouple, is very soothing. The gorgeous guitar melodies layered over the crips drums will compliment the sounds of nature while you are out on your relaxing picnic. Additionally, there are some interesting clicking noises in the background that give the track a natural atmosphere. Jamila Woods delivers some sweet and soulful vocals that are truly soothing to the ear. Chance The Rapper delivers a positive and dynamic verse that will warm your heart as usual (I absolutely loved his little diss towards Spike Lee's controversial movie, Ch-Raq). Overall, this is a great song to play during your picnic since it is stuffed with the positive and sunny atmosphere to match the mood of outdoor activity.
