Honest and vulnerable. These are the two words I would use to describe this song. Similar to Father John Misty’s style of love songs, Catfish’s style focuses on the reality of a relationship.
This song is both on my playlist of favorite songs ever as well as favorite bands. I have seen this song live twice and it is such an unbelievable feeling, hearing the crowd sing back, but clearly hearing the emotion behind Van’s (leader singer) voice. There’s something amazing about watching him play his acoustic guitar, eyes closed practically during the whole song, listening to everyone harmonize back, that just takes you somewhere else.
Everytime I listen to this song I can’t help but sing along, or get lost in my thoughts, so I hope you find some enjoyment in one of my all time favorite songs.

About the Curator - Ashlee Villasenor
Ashlee Villasenor is a senior at Austin College who watches too much Netflix and listens to her music a bit too loud. Her passion for music stems from a childhood full of sleeping on chairs at concerts to singing at the top of her lungs with her dad in the car to every new album he bought her. She's a Tumblr obsessed vegetarian, an animal-lover, a "let's share our feelings through music" kind of girl, who you will never catch without her journal and her pen in hand.
