This week we have a wavy hip-hop track from JayDaYoungan. After stumbling upon the Wake Up on SoundCloud, my roommates immediately asked me what song I was listening to. The track has been playing in the house ever since. What initially sparked my interest in the track was a sample of The Weeknd's track "Wasted Times":
"I don't want to wake up / I don't want to wake up" (The Weeknd, Wasted Times).
The pitch is adjusted on JayDaYoungan's track but there is no denying The Weeknd's vocals. The track is quite simply a vibe. The lyrics are similar to most mumble rap tracks that are out right now but something about JayDaYoungan's voice and melody is memorable. The track is addicting and is perfect for a morning drive on the way to work or school. It will lift your spirits, get your blood flowing, and make you want to get a face tat and live in the trap. It is not recommended though...
Wake Up is a vibe, not really much else to say. JayDaYoungan's sound fits perfectly into the playlist and deserves some recognition.
