Yeat is currently running the underground hip hop scene. His success stems from persistance, but more importantly – virality. His recent music videos have caught the attention from the underground hip-hop scene, underground media outlets, and even landed him a cosign from Drake.
The Portland based rappers sound has deveoped into a muddy, and vocal inflection focused performance – and his lyrics describe his relationships with women, fame, drip, and demons. While I think his lyrics could use development, his current sound and voice match his style and make for catchier tracks. His rhythm is fast paced and punchy – utilizing ad libs and vocal engineering to create alternative sounds and voices.
‘Told ya’ is a more melodic and less muddied track in comparison to most of his discography. It’s best to just listen to the track and feel his sound – so go do that.
