Back at it and starting 2019 with some fresh R&B vibes from Gesaffelstein and The Weeknd. Having previously produced "Hurt You" and "I Was Never There" off of The Weeknd's 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy, Gesaffelstein continues to impress listeners with his dark and complex beats.
Layered with synths and eery effects, Lost in the Fire brings a fresh and somewhat futuristic sound into the new year. Gesaffelstein is often overlooked because of the presence of The Weeknd, but it does not take away from the fact that this is indeed his own track from his forthcoming album. Most of his beats are reminiscent of a darker Daft Punk, who like Gesaffelstein, are French producers.
The Weeknd does his usual thing, singing vulgar lyrics about sex and love while somehow making it sound angelic and innocent. The opening lyric "I wanna fuck you slow with the lights on" is just a glimpse into the grittiness of the lyrics on the track. The Weeknd manages to call out his current girlfriend on her sexuality and throw shade at Drake, all while maintaining his position as one of the hottest in the music industry.
The track is smooth, and the vocals and production make for an addicting track. Make sure to give it a listen and make sure to follow all of Music To Get Addicted To's social media accounts.
As usual, prepare to get addicted!
