In the mood for a beat instrumental next on this playlist, I decided to add this laid back track by young Chicago-based producer Harris Cole. I came across Harris Cole's music on a playlist of beats on Spotify. This track is off of his late 2016 release, "Pause."
I was drawn by the dreamy vibes, and by the samples from one of my favorite movies, "Waking Life," which is a philosophical journey that shows the blurred lines between wakefulness and dreams. The song starts with a sample of children playing the origami fortune teller game, picking one number at a time and folding the paper until they land on "dream is destiny." Cole's beats definitely straddle the line between reality and dreams.

About the Curator, Caitlin Moss:
Drum set player and percussionist Caitlin Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has performed at such venues as the Skirball Center and the Ford Amphitheatre and has toured nationally and internationally, including performances in Mexico and Cuba, with Grammy-winning bands La Santa Cecilia and Quetzal. She performs and records in Los Angeles as a freelance musician and as a member of several original bands. Caitlin is also teaching drum set, percussion, piano, and music production classes at a youth arts center operated by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
