Nick Johnson is a "singer-soulwriter," producer, and musician based in North Carolina. The song he submitted to this playlist, "Push On" is a high energy soul track, with a blazing horn section, slick strings, 70's percussion, and inspirational lyrics. His vocals and the arrangement remind me of one of my favorite artists, Curtis Mayfield. 

"Push On" definitely will take the listeners' minds off their troubles and inspire them to keep pushing on. Nick is working on a new project that will be retro and alternative soul, and he'll be releasing a new single early this fall.

About the Curator, Caitlin Moss:

Drum set player and percussionist Caitlin Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles.  She has performed at such venues as the Skirball Center and the Ford Amphitheatre and has toured nationally and internationally, including performances in Mexico and Cuba, with Grammy-winning bands La Santa Cecilia and Quetzal.  She performs and records in Los Angeles as a freelance musician and as a member of several original bands. Caitlin is also teaching drum set, percussion, piano, and music production classes at a youth arts center operated by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
