Nearly any track from Texas band Khruangbin ("airplane" in Thai) would fit well on the Forget Your Troubles playlist. Most of their songs are chill instrumental funk tunes, inspired by 60's funk and jazz from Thailand. And they record in a remote barn in Burton, Texas, adding to the natural vibe of their music. But "Friday Morning," the last song on their latest release, "Con Todo El Mundo," diverges slightly from their usual sound. It's the first love song they've written, about "risk-taking in relationships, that feeling of vulnerability when you choose to jump in head-first and trust another person," according to the band.
The music video for the song shows scenes from the farm where the band got its start, as well long portraits of each band member showing a range of emotion. This genuine emotion is brought on by the band members listening to recorded messages of love from their closest friends and family members. The song and video for "Friday Morning" emit the essence of love, what is needed more than ever in this world.

About the Curator, Caitlin Moss:
Drum set player and percussionist Caitlin Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has performed at such venues as the Skirball Center and the Ford Amphitheatre and has toured nationally and internationally, including performances in Mexico and Cuba, with Grammy-winning bands La Santa Cecilia and Quetzal. She performs and records in Los Angeles as a freelance musician and as a member of several original bands. Caitlin is also teaching drum set, percussion, piano, and music production classes at a youth arts center operated by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
