I had a profound moment of happiness in mindblowing proportions watching this group of fellows jam together recently in San Francisco. The band is composed of Dalton Allison, Jake Hirshland, Javi Reyes, Wesley Toledo, Matt Williams and Joe Keery (an inactive contributing member for the foreseeable future). Their cohesive nature from the three part vocals to the unison shredding was hypnotic to witness. Pure euphoria in soundwave motion. Colorful psych-rock bliss. I think you get the gist here. If you don't - I suggest you go see them in their cohesive chaos and you'll most definitely catch my drift.
“Special Moment” is a quirky track that begins on a deceivingly poppy route. As it progresses, the intensity bubbles and pops in the middle of the song with delicious explosive zigzagging riffs. Reeling it back in towards the end with some funky seduction and you are left in a trance of vibrant ear buzzing adrenaline. So have no fear, Post Animal is here to make sure you get your fair share of mind buzzing psych loving tunes in exhilarating doses.
As I search to neatly wrap up this piece, I am struck with a moment of clarity. I feel called to add that I often find it extremely difficult to discuss the music others have created. There is so much more to music than music itself. Now I know we are all aware of this but it is long forgotten when we start trying to formulate a tangible understanding of the music rather than focusing on the intangible way it makes us feel. Or the memories of music tied to your childhood. Or the emotions that lay dormant until music erupts them and allows you to let everything go.
Music takes on its own life force creating infinite layers of experiences. It has the ability to connect and ebb and flow through time and space and beyond. Each intricate particle of energy behind the collaboration of sound is electrifyingly palpable and it is received differently by every single cell it clashes into. I find it so beyond my own comprehension that I could use all the words in the universe and it still could not describe music in its rawest form. Nonetheless, I will continue to share my experience with each and every song I happen upon. Take my experiences in with open arms and then just listen to the music yourself. Experience it for yourself. Nothing more, nothing less.

About The Curator - Maria Fish
You can most often find Maria in her garden humming along to an eclectic playlist titled “Life’s a Garden, Dig It” and of course tending to her beloved plants. This garden is located on the island of Kaua’i at her childhood home surrounded by tropical fruit trees and flowers. Beautiful music has always gone hand in hand with the beauty of the island. Just as she nurtures her plants, she looks forward to nurturing this playlist and the community of music lovers that feel like stopping by and having a listen.
