My aussie roots seem to be growing into fervent entanglement with some really snazzy australian artists. These roots have wrapped gently around the five-piece band known as Foreign/National. They have been a favorite of mine for quite awhile now and this track in particular keeps me groovin’ even when there is no groove left. They describe themselves as “nostalgic, detuned pop”. Cool, eh?
Nostalgia. Don’t we all revel deeply in its wistful web? It is not always accompanied with sunny psychedelic pop but I wouldn't be opposed to having their music in the background of fond memories and moments of profound tenderness. I feel a very special bond with these fellas as they hail from Melbourne, Australia where my mother was born. I have a theory that it is actually a magical black hole where the universe gives birth to otherworldly music. I refer to it as a black hole in the sense that as beings composed of matter, we cannot escape the gravitational pull of the musical intensity in this place. It feeds my ravenous appetite for music like no other.
However, don't just take my word for it friends. Get yourself in a groovy mood and listen to some of the coolest tunes this dimension has to offer.

About The Curator - Maria Fish
You can most often find Maria in her garden humming along to an eclectic playlist titled “Life’s a Garden, Dig It” and of course tending to her beloved kale. Shout out to Joe Dirt for the wise words and fantastic playlist name. This garden is located on the island of Kaua’i at her childhood home surrounded by tropical fruit trees and flowers. Beautiful music has always gone hand in hand with the beauty of the island. Just as she nurtures her plants, she looks forward to nurturing this playlist and the community of music lovers that feel like stopping by and having a listen.
