It’s Sunday and we all know what that means - what song have I kept coming back to this week?
This week has been a LOT. Sarah Everand’s murder and the subsequent events have been shocking. Violence against women happens every day and now is not the time to be silent - protesting is a universal human right!
I’ve been coming back to this song everyday at around 5pm, when I just need a breather! Soulful and gentle, Gardot says ”It's about life, and the people living it -- right now." The message makes a lot of sense after finding out that it was inspired by the birth of her guitarist’s son.
I’d also really recommend reading Gardot’s story - I may have got a bit emosh when reading it - oops!

About The Curator - Lizzy Wood
Hey, I’m Lizzy! I am a Music and Law student at the University of Liverpool. I am passionate about maintaining artistic integrity in an increasingly commercialised industry, particularly for young and inexperienced female artists. My aim is to develop, promote and encourage women in music. I enjoy a variety of music genres. If I had to pick a favourite, it would have to be R&B/Soul. Jazz also comes into the mix... how could it not?!
Alongside my degree I enjoy managing an artist, Greta Lovisa, as well as leading both small-scale and large-scale charitable music events.
