Yüzyüzeyken Konuşuruz, exact translation: we’ll talk face-to-face, was not a band in the beginning. It was just a bunch of music videos recorded by songwriter, Kaan Boşnak. After the responses he got on the Internet were very supportive, he teamed up with electric guitar player, Engin Sevik and started his gigs. This period lasted for three years accompanied by various musicians. When they released their first album, they formed a full band with Kaan Boşnak on guitar and vocals, Engin Sevik on electric guitar, Can Tunaboylu on bass guitar and Can Kalyoncu on drums.
They first described themselves as an indie-folk band. But since their first album, they are experimenting with electronic sounds, dance beats and psychedelic elements.
Their music reminds me of long road trips to the beach with friends. Imagine you are in a car, windows are open and you finally see the ocean after a long time! Their music captures that, in my opinion. In addition to that, it also reminds me of campfire songs accompanied by just a guitar.
