Ouroboros – Morosity
18 December 2017
“They say a garden is to be a world unto itself. It had better make room for the darker shades of feeling. In the vibrant garden scape that is the MPLS music scene, a scene that prides itself on positivity, MOROSITY provides that vital touch of gray. Cool, dark, and sulky” says the members of the Minneapolis based band, Morosity. And they are not wrong. his track is awesome because it brings together the constituent instruments of the Turkish Music: the “darbuka”,”bağlama” and clarinet.
Nargile – Gaye Su Akyol
30 November 2017
This track is awesome because it talks about the oppressive Turkish government in a very cryptic way. It criticizes the leaders and the government in general. Also the song’s name is “Nargile (hookah)” which suggests that the artist stayed loyal to her Eastern origin while experimenting with it.
