Kalben is an singer-songwriter from Turkey. She worked on a lot of jobs before she started making music. She chose music after a lot of jobs, and we are lucky she did. Her music is the product of a woman who knows life a bit too well. The lyrics are very well-chosen and poetic. This reminds me of Patti Smith, who performed her poems musically.
She deals with love and life in her songs. The music consists of mostly acoustic elements like guitars and tender vocals. The lyrics touch my soul and my heart itches a little because the songs remind me of past experiences and loves. I don’t know why but I always listen to Kalben when I am melancholic and it helps me get through it. When it’s raining, this is the best soundtrack.

About the curator - Ada Bayramoglu
Ada is a high schooler from İstanbul who cannot be seen without her headphones. She is a “support your local” kind of girl who knows all the best places to drink coffee in her hometown. Her subconscious is full of “Turkish Classical Music”, which she has been listening to since she was born. She likes everlasting conversations with her friends about music and art. If you don’t know where she is just look at the nearest concert hall and she’ll be there.
