With his new album “Günaşığı”, I started listening to Ahmet Ali Arslan. The first thing I realized in his songs was the sound of “bendir”, my favorite instrument. As the music proceeded, the clarinet blew my mind. The delicacy of it was out of this planet. With familiar sounds of “İncesaz” and “Erkan Oğur” Ahmet Ali Arslan was now in my radar.
Ahmet Ali Arslan was different. His songs were sincere and warm. It felt like I was where I wanted to be and nowhere else. He took the essence of his music from Turkish art. He knew it was beautiful and he blended it with his own lyrics. I am definitely going to his next concert in İstanbul!
