Some characters from past eras I like are Vikings, Pirates, and Western Outlaws. They're all adventurous, brave, and sort of criminals though but all of them lived in the present as if there was no tomorrow. How is this related to our track pick for this week? Well, Sugar by Nydia has this Piano sample that reminds me of one of those western cantinas until the beat slaps in turning the whole thing on a boom bap-ish beat that will surely break your neck if you're not careful enough.
The track isn't complex on the structure but achieves its goal of making you vibe from start to end and that's the whole point of making music, is not having a bunch of stuff happening at the same time, it is transmitting something, maybe a feeling, maybe a story or just a moment.
