Road trip playlists can have the potential to take you anywhere, stories, memories, latest hits and pub anthems, and last but not least the Classics. This week happens to be a request from the back seat, but if someone said to me write down a list of your ten favorite classics, its definitely been tattooed on my skin . Seriously, you know your listening to a brilliant piece of music when it can bring people together regardless of staunch Musical tastes and sub cultures.
This is why "Golden Brown" by "The Stranglers" has made an appearance.
Not only a great Track, but the synergy between certain illicit items and this track are a marriage made in ... well you know.
And so, we all have tracks that take us somewhere, " Golden Brown" takes me back to a grungy share house in the inner city, not to dissimilar to "Dogs in Space" only just, a little higher classof existence from the latter "Trainspotting". The only pre-requisite to get a room in this fucking dump was to bring a full set of crockery on arrival....This made it possible for our total lack of giving a fuck, andwashing dishes. Well, dishes weren't in our vocab, so funny enough clearing the sink meant exactly that...straight out the window. Anyway you get it!
Our party lifestyle was pure and simple, no work, all play, and chasing the dragon which consisted of hazy road trips on the search for said things, and longwinded drives to nowhere with a mixed tape after acquiring said mythical creature. To this day this track always puts a smile on my face and takes me back to our messy road trip adventures....
I'm sure it will put a smile on yours...
