I've been intending to have this song on this playlist since its inception. Lamb of God is one of my favorite current metal bands and their 2012 album Resolution is the pinnacle of their work for my ears. This record is produced perfectly for how these guys write and perform, nothing is out of place and no extraneous anything. "Undertow" may be my favorite song they've recorded.
From the first note I was hooked by the immediate angst and intensity of this track. All of their work has this but something about this song punched me in the gut and forced me to get up and move physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
As usual the band is super tight, stopping on a dime at breaks and showing their prowess at metal composition. Each musician is on point, the riffs are heavy and locked in, all the sections sync up and perfectly match the vocals. The main stand out is vocalist Blythe's performance, to me his finest in their catalog. His voice has his usual growl and guttural explosiveness, while being articulate and powerful and clear. It's hard to describe but you can feel his intention and frustration and I love the spots right before a couple choruses when the band drops out as he screams "....standing where you left me!"
If you're a fan of metal or even if you're not you owe it to yourself to check this out. It will definitely leave you feeling something different.

About The Curator - Danny Gordon
Danny's love affair with music started around the time he could walk. He spent countless hours in front of the record player going through his parents collection and experimented with playing violin, piano, and guitar before finding his voice on the bass in his teens.
Danny began playing in local bands in Los Angeles while studying music, eventually landing at Berklee College of Music in 1998. Following his graduation in 2001 Danny returned home and continued his career as a recording and touring bassist, most notably working with former STP singer Scott Weiland.
Danny continues to stay active in the local scene and is a devoted father teaching his children about the music he loves.
