I was feeling mellow then decided F-k that we need to rock. This week showcases a heavy and dynamic instrumental prog band from England, Toska. If you haven't heard these dudes you need to check them out. Their music is super technical, intricate, and heavy and they can do delicate and ambient too all with a pungent dose of feel and soul. In 2016 they released their opus "Ode To The Author" which slays almost anything out there these days. It was hard to pick one song for the list and I recommend listening to the whole album.
"Infantile" is the closer on the Ode record and at 10 min 11 secs it rounds it out perfectly by going through a myriad of riffs and grooves that shows each musician's skills. All three guys are incredibly gifted players and not a single note is out of place and while they are ripping there is also plenty of space and room for the music to breathe and build tension and release. This whole record is recorded exceptionally well and the tones each gets are perfect for this style.
If you weren't a fan before you are now. And of course....turn it up LOUD!

About The Curator - Danny Gordon
Danny's love affair with music started around the time he could walk. He spent countless hours in front of the record player going through his parents collection and experimented with playing violin, piano, and guitar before finding his voice on the bass in his teens.
Danny began playing in local bands in Los Angeles while studying music, eventually landing at Berklee College of Music in 1998. Following his graduation in 2001 Danny returned home and continued his career as a recording and touring bassist, most notably working with former STP singer Scott Weiland.
Danny continues to stay active in the local scene and is a devoted father teaching his children about the music he loves.
