When I was in 11th grade a close school friend introduced me another friend who was not part of our usual crew. We probably only hung out a handful of times but had some really interesting and different discussions about music. I turned him onto Black Sabbath and he introduced me to Tool. I had seen a video or two and liked it and with his urging starting listening more. At the time their album "Undertow" had come out and it became a part of my collection in heavy rotation. I still listen to them on a regular basis and they have been a huge influence on my listening to and composing music.
"Bottom" is one of my favorite tracks on this record. From the sludgy opening riff the song hits a groove and never looks back. Classic Tool composition with varying time, tempo, and feel from heavy to spacey, it's a bag of tricks, complete with a spoken word from Henry Rollins in the middle section. This is a track I always gravitate towards in their catalog.
Wherever you are Anthony this one is for you!

About The Curator - Danny Gordon
Danny's love affair with music started around the time he could walk. He spent countless hours in front of the record player going through his parents collection and experimented with playing violin, piano, and guitar before finding his voice on the bass in his teens.
Danny began playing in local bands in Los Angeles while studying music, eventually landing at Berklee College of Music in 1998. Following his graduation in 2001 Danny returned home and continued his career as a recording and touring bassist, most notably working with former STP singer Scott Weiland.
Danny continues to stay active in the local scene and is a devoted father teaching his children about the music he loves.
