I think I was 19 when this record was released to the public. And by this time being a teen in my city in Florida If you had a car it was more than likely laced with subwoofers, amps, & tweeters. If you could hear yourself talking while playing music you didn’t have enough bass.
If you came from the right part of town this record was one of the go to records for that southern funk. When it starts the bass line slides and right away you hear where its going. The sound of what seems to be live drums a real & bass guitar just seemed to have a certain feel to it when you played it in your car with enough volume to wake your family in what seemed to be the next town over.
Also that crazy synth that I can never seem to get out of my head leading you down the road of southern hip hop history. You can turn this track up and close your eyes and get a good vision of Tela, performing this with a live band backed up by southern hip hop legends like 8 Ball & MJG.
