Well, Sidney Bechet is a genius: a master on the saxophone and the clarinet. His music, distinguished by a wide vibrato, evokes a lot of emotion. I came across this song for the first time while watching Midnight in Paris--one of my favourite films.
So for me, it paints a picture of Paris and rain, and Paris in the Rain. Woody Allen craftily uses this track at the beginning of his movie to set the tone of the film. His very vocal love for Bechet is apparent throughout as well. The themes of love and of finding it are important in the film and Bechet's track is a prelude to that.
Si Tu Vois Ma Mère is that typical New Orleans style music, twisted to Bechet's style and reminiscent of Paris, Rain and Love.
So, if you are enjoying any (or all) of the three, put on Sidney Bechet.
