It is great when two very similar artists come together to make something as beautiful as this track. Ankur Tewari and Prateek Kuhad are not new names in the Indian music scene - well known amongst fans for their indie sounds set in simple yet satisfying melodies.
Dil Beparvah has to be one of my favourite songs at the moment--and has been for a while. The emotion is generic, yet so personal. Dil Beparvah is a song about a carefree heart that follows its own rhythm, is stubborn and incorrigible. The song emerges from both Ankur and Prateek's passion for music and their effort to make a career in the field despite the odds. The emotion is raw and the two boys's crooning set to a soulful acoustic sound intensifies the feelings that are beautifully captured in the songwriting--something both hold close to their hearts.
The Dewarists is an indispensable stage for Indian artists to collaborate and showcase their talents in the non-mainstream media, outside of Bollywood. In five seasons, it has hosted some of the subcontinent's best artists who have come together to make brilliant music. The process of songwriting and recording is captured in forty minute episodes shot in various Indian cities that are known for their music scenes. The Ankur Tewari & Prateek Kuhad collaboration is a product of the latest season 5.
If you are intensely proud of your passion, celebrate it with Dil Beparvah.
